Is My Laptop Any Good Or Should It Just Be Used As A Lamp?

I have a HP 2133

MS Windows Vista Home Basic SP1

VIA C7-M Processor 1200MHz, 1.0GB RAM, VIA Chrome9 HC IGP Family WDDM.

I pretty much want to use my laptop for games (Emulators to Games like Medal of Honor; ect.) school work, surfing the web, and recording some of my music. Is it ok for all that? I dont want to try and just be disappointed.

Thanks Alot. Anything is much appreciated. Is My Laptop Any Good Or Should It Just Be Used As A Lamp?
Your laptop will be able to do some of the things you listed. 2D console emulators and older games will run fine, but you probably will not be able to get anything with intense 3D graphics running very smoothly. Surfing the web and word processing should be no problem. However, music recording and mixing are some of the most CPU-intensive tasks, and even some newer computers can't keep up with professional recording software like Pro Tools and Digital Performer. You can always use the sound recorder accessory program if you just want to mix 2 or 3 tracks, but you will need a more powerful CPU along with a good sound card to really do serious music production. Is My Laptop Any Good Or Should It Just Be Used As A Lamp?
It's great for anything but really modern games. You can browse the web, listen to music, and encode video just fine.Is My Laptop Any Good Or Should It Just Be Used As A Lamp?
Add another gig of memory and it will do everything you want except the games. It will play them, just not real well.
use it until it goes wrong. visit hplies.com
