UFC: Undisputed 2009 doesn't work on newer PS3's?

I got a new PS3 for christmas. The 160gb that came Uncharted 2 and Medal of honor, it was the wal-mart black Friday special. I bought UFC : Undisputed 2009 pre-owned from Gamestop. I've returned it 3 times now thinking that it was broken. However it is hanging up on the same spot so I'm starting to think it's more then just a issue of a bad disc. It installs on the hard drive, Plays the opening video, then it goes to a UFC screen that tells you to press start. I press start and another UFC screen with music pops up and it just sits there. Done that on 4 copies now.UFC: Undisputed 2009 doesn't work on newer PS3's?
I've got a newer 160 GB model of the PS3 and my Undisputed 2009 works fine.



Also there's been no widespread reports of the game freezing so the problems on your end.



It's either your PS3, but that's unlikely. Or, more likely, it's your copy of the game. First make sure you have hard the latest patch downloaded and if it still doesn't work take it back to the shop again and ask for another copy, (make sure you see them swap the disc's they could just be being cheeky and giving you the same disc again and again. You could also ask them to test the disc and make sure the problem doesn't occur on the store's PS3. They are required to test the preowned games before they are sold but most of the time they tend to 'forget') If the game doesn't work after all that take it back and get a refund and go buy UFC undisputed 2010.

There is a widespread problem with this. Don't install the patch when putting in the game. This patch messes with newer PS3's.

Hey, i have the same problem. I bought it today and luckily i went to my friends house who has a older PS3 and it worked on his. but not mine i have the newer. its the system not the game. im no technician but i think there is some new format that sony put on the newer ps3 that the game cant produce or something. hope this help. im going to gamestop tomorrow, actually today. and im just going to by undisputed 2010. Happy new year.
Same problem. I got an old ps3 though have had it for about 2 years. I had ufc 09 and it worked perfectly but then i sold it. My brother bought it again at gamestop today preowned and it wont work. Tried 3 copies and we still had the same problem. Its not the discs because they are all like new. None of them were scracthed and were in perfect condition. Best thing to do is return it and get a different game. So yeah you arnt the only one with the problme.
